BEBox Password

This is not the Wireless Key! This is the password to administer the BEBox:

Your routers username is always Administrator (with a capital A) unless you have changed it.

  • The password is either blank

or

  • The password is the serial number of your BEBox (For example: CP0850SFZRE) ensuring you keep are using the correct upper case letters.

Be careful when reading the label. Make sure to check the letters which look very similar: B/8, O/0, V/U.

Note that IE7, IE8 and some other browsers have problems with the authentication, try firefox or another browser; or apply the IE7&IE8 update using the opt-out tool.

Finding the serial number using a web browser

Visit the following page:
http://192.168.1.254/upnp/IGD.xml
For the 587nv2 and 582n use:
http://192.168.1.254:8000/upnp/IGD.xml

You need to add CP to the start of the serial number and use this final string to log into your bebox.
Remember to replace the address with the IP of your router if you have changed your routers IP address.
This method only works if UPNP is turned on.

Finding the serial number within Windows 7

Press Start > Enter Network and select Network.
The following will appear.
Assuming your serial number is 123456789, you need to add CP to the start of the serial number and use this final string to log into your bebox.
