Set-up
To set-up the Thomson TG585v7 ADSL 2+ modem (your Be Box!), make sure it is connected, to your phone line and computer, as described in the Be Quick Start article. Then point your Browser to the Web address http://192.168.1.254 to display the Thomson modem's internal Home Page (see image right).
First time set-up
- Note: These instructions differ from the photocopied instructions supplied with Be Box
If this is the first time you are setting up the modem (ie. you don't yet have an Internet connection!), from the Thomson TG585v7 control panel Home Page, in the menu on the left, click "Thomson Gateway". Below the information on the section "Thomson Gateway", is another section "Pick a task...". Click on the link "Set Up", to launch the "Welcome to the Thomson Gateway Easy Setup" wizard in a pop-up menu. Click "Next" to go to the "Service Selection" page.
Service Selection
- Choose "Broadband - Static IP" if you have ordered a static IP addressing with your service
- Choose "Broadband - Multi IP" if you have dynamic IP addressing.
Static IP addressing is currently available with BE Pro service. You can check whether you have it, (a) By checking your Account information at the Be Member Centre, (b) In the set-up notes sent with the Be Box.
Click next to go the next appropriate screen
