Fastpath (also called Gaming Mode by BE) is the alternative to interleaved, it does not implement error correction or redundancy checks, which results in a lower latency connection. It is most advantageous for gamers, as reaction time is crucial. It is not recommended to switch to fastpath if you suffer from a poor phone line, high attenuation or do not require very low latency as the reliability of your broadband connection may suffer.
